KEVIN Alas will finally return to the court in the coming PBA Commissioner’s Cup with NLEX listing him in the active roster.
The 33-year-old Alas is scheduled to come back this conference with NLEX’s decision to include him in the roster, one year after he sustained a third ACL injury in a game against Terrafirma last November 18, 2023 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
“Almost there na,” said Alas in a recent online chat with SPIN.ph.
NLEX is expected to manage the load of Alas even with his impending return to the court following the long layoff.

His third ACL injury was almost a month after he was part of the historic Gilas Pilipinas squad that claimed the gold medal in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China where Alas had an impactful contribution to the team’s semifinal victory over the host country.
Alas played for three games in the 2023-24 Commissioner’s Cup and averaged 12.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.0 steals before going down with the injury.
He will be joining the NLEX backcourt where he will be teammates with Robert Bolick for the first time since Bolick was acquired in a three-team trade with NorthPort and San Miguel last December, or shortly after Alas got injured,
