KEVIN Alas makes his return to the court as NLEX battles NorthPort on Wednesday in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The Road Warriors take on the Batang Pier at 4:30 p.m. as they look to extend their winning streak to six games in the encounter.
Set to return to action for NLEX after nine months is Alas, who has recovered from a second ACL injury he sustained last February.
NLEX coach Yeng Guiao said Alas was supposed to return last Sunday, but went against it with the match against Magnolia being played at the Ynares Center where the former Letran guard sustained his second ACL tear of his career.

But Alas is optimistic about his comeback that comes after NLEX beat Magnolia, 86-85, on Sunday to take the twice-to-beat advantage as well as first place in the standings with an 8-1 card.
“Feeling blessed. Ito lang naman gusto ko na makabalik,” said Alas as quoted by the Road Warriors Twitter account @ArangkadaNLEX. “Prayer ko lang, maging healthy ako for the rest of my career.”
“Siguro ito ang plano ng Diyos sa akin to help inspire others facing struggles.”
NLEX is aiming to sustain its winning run and get the top seed entering the quarterfinals against a NorthPort squad still looking to enter the playoffs.
The Batang Pier are currently in a tie for eighth place with Alaska with a 3-6 win-loss record. They have lost two in a row after losing to Meralco, 103-89, last Sunday.
