KEVIN Alas knows that it hasn't been the best of rides for NLEX, dropping all four of its assignments in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup.
Adding to the Road Warriors' woes has been the way they've been losing, falling by an average of 11.75 points.
"From my perspective, it's frustrating to see the team lose like this, puro tambak pa," he told Spin.ph after NLEX fell to Columbian, 120-105, on Saturday.
Alas is on a tough situation as he badly wants to come to his side's aid, yet unable to do so as he continues his recovery from his right ACL injury.
But as hard as the quandary is, he believes that this hardships could only lead to a better future for the franchise once he and suspended playmaker Kiefer Ravena make their return.
That's why he's urging the guys on the team to make the most of the opportunity given to them.
"Mahirap mag-blame o mag-finger point kung sino ang may kasalanan. It has to be a collective effort na wag hanapin kung sino ang wala," he said. "Rather, it's an opportunity for all of the guys to shine and make a name for themselves para pag naging kumpleto kami, mas lalalim yung rotation."
And it's the only thing he could do as of the moment, to continue motivating his peers as NLEX waits for that moment that it will be one complete team once again.
"Of course, super excited ako at looking forward ako na makumpleto kami. Personally, excited ako. Pag naging kumpleto kami, we're just making ourselves deeper. Ang ganda ng problema ng coach mo kasi kahit sino, pwedeng bunutin," he said.
