KEVIN Alas has been with NLEX for 11 years, and he hopes that this conference will finally be the time that the Road Warriors go deep into the playoffs following their impressive start to the PBA 50th Season Commissioner's Cup.
The Road Warriors are currently in second place with a 4-1 win-loss record after their 120-102 win over Phoenix Super LPG on Sunday.
“Lord willing na pagdating ng playoffs, we get over the hump na maka-semis naman kami sana,” Alas said as he's only played in a semifinals twice for NLEX uniform.

Alas was a big part of NLEX's sizzling start to the conference, after dropping all of his 18 points in the fourth quarter of the runaway win over the Fuelmasters.
He was so hot in that stretch he even hit a rare five-point play that further extended the Road Warriors' lead against the Fuelmasters.
“Total team effort by Coach Jong (Uichico), Robert (Bolick), Schonny (Winston), everyone did what they are supposed to do. I'm just happy na we had a great night.”
On the five-point play, Alas said: “It's just a regular play. We're just running our post action, space the floor. Nag-collapse kay (JB) Bahio, and kick out sa akin. So it was a great shot kasi very rare yung five-point play.”
The Road Warriors are on a two-game winning streak that started with a 118-113 victory over Barangay Ginebra on March 27.
Alas admitted one of the reasons why NLEX has been winning is the addition of Schonny Winston as he has added depth to the squad after the Road Warriors acquired him in a trade with Converge.
“It's really great. Microwave siya na pagpasok, hindi na kailangang magpa-init. He can manufacture shots, and that's great for a team na needed ng more scoring. Schonny adds depth to our line-up,” Alas shared.
