NLEX guard Kevin Alas is on his road to recovery but he’s in no rush to get back on court.
The former NCAA star out of Letran sustained an ACL tear in his right knee in Game Five of their PBA Philippine Cup semifinals series against Magnolia seven months ago and has not played since.
Although he’s getting better, Alas is targeting a return in the Philippine Cup early next year, saying he doesn't want to return to action until he's full fit.
“Maganda naman ‘yung progress ko, going seventh month (na ‘yung recovery ko) then nagagawa ko naman na ‘yung lahat ng exercises and drills and I’m about to get cleared,” said Alas.
“Pero ang target ko (to get back) is sa All-Filipino na eh para 100 percent na ako and at the same time makuha ko na ang game shape ko,” he added.
He’s currently undergoing therapy, including aqua training.
