“I have already submitted my application to the PBA office and I will be flying back to the Philippines late August to potentially do pre-draft workouts and get ready for the combine and the draft,” said Tuffin in an online message to SPIN.

The 26-year-old Tuffin has spent the last three years in New Zealand where he played in the country’s professional league, most recently with the Wellington Saints, his ballclub since 2021.

Prior to his professional career, the 6-foot-5 Tuffin, born to a Filipina mother from Rosario, La Union, was recruited by FEU in 2016. He played until 2019 but decided to turn pro in New Zealand due to the pandemic and played for the Taranaki Mountaineers.

Tuffin produced his best season with Wellington in 2021 where he averaged 8.5 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 49 percent from three-point range.
