TWO ever reliable veterans will be back for another tour of duty for TNT Katropa in the coming 42nd season of the PBA.
Former league MVP Kelly Williams and guard Ryan Reyes were signed to separate two-year deals by the franchise where they've played major roles in winning multiple championships in the past.
Williams is guaranteed the maximum deal worth P10.08 million, while Reyes got a total package that goes beyond P8 million.
The 34-year-old Williams was actually offered a two-year extension last year. But not wanting to shortchanged team management about the state of his health, the 2008 league MVP instead opted for just a one season contract.
Today, he looks ready and fit to play for another two years or so.
"He's healthy and nothing appears to be bothering him physically," said team manager Virgil Villavicencion about the condition of the Fil-Am forward from Detroit, Michigan, who won five championships with the Texters since joining the team in 2010.
Although not spared of an injury-free season last year, the 33-year-old Reyes displayed flashes of his vintage form with the Texters, good enough for him to be lined-up by former Gilas coach Tab Baldwin as part of the national team roster that saw action in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament here.
Like Williams, Reyes was part of the team's five championships since 2010.
Also renewed by the Texters for another year is wingman Aaron Aban.
