That's the name San Miguel players attached to Kelly Nabong after his blunders last Friday when, with a game against NLEX all but settled, he tried -and failed -to put the exclamation point to the win as he botched a pair of open dunks in the final seconds.
Lucky for him, the 121-111 win was already in the bag for the Beermen by then, although Nabong didn't hear the end of it from teammates.
That was why on Sunday, when the opportunity once again arose, Nabong made sure to slam the ball home after receiving a pass from Terrence Romeo and the lane opened up early in the fourth quarter.
He went up and rocked the rim before unleashing a menacing scream towards the San Miguel bench - relieved to finally get the monkey off his back.
"Finally," he shouted, much to the delight of his teammates as he made it an 88-79 affair with 10:26 still to play in the game.
The Beermen went on and scored the thrilling 113-107 conquest over NorthPort on Sunday to formally clinch a playoff berth in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup.
But more than his redemption, Nabong was glad to see things finally coming together for San Miguel, which has now won four straight games.
"It's our defense. I feel our defense has been on point for the past games. We've been excellent with the helpside (defense) and rebounding, as well as our fastbreaks and threes. We're clicking on all cylinders," he said aftercollecting 11 points and two rebounds off the bench.
The victory kept San Miguel in the thick of the race for the top two seeds, currently occupied by Phoenix and Rain or Shine, as the four-time defending champions improved to 6-3.
"We're still looking for the top spot, the number one spot," said the mercurial bruiser.
With San Miguel putting its early struggles behind it, Nabong said he won't hesitate to go for a dunk when another opportunity arises.
Confidently, he said: "As long as it goes in, hell yeah."
