KEVIN Ferrer could be sidelined for as long as two weeks, starting on Wednesday in Barangay Ginebra's PBA Governors' Cup matchup against San Miguel Beer, due to a fractured cheekbone.

The Gin Kings rookie himself and coach Tim Cone confirmed the news after practice on the eve of their anticipated showdown versus the Beermen.

The injury will keep Ferrer out until the Finals -- if ever the Gin Kings make it there.

Ferrer, who hurt his cheek following a scary fall off Mo Tautuaa in the Gin Kings' final match of the eliminations against TNT last Saturday, could make it back earlier depending on the result of the follow up check-up he was set to go to after practice on Tuesday.

"Sabi sa akin, two weeks rest, pero depende pa mamaya," Ferrer said.

"Pwede (mapaaga)," the Gilas cadet star out of University of Santo Tomas added. "Depende sa healing process."
