ANTIPOLO — Blackwater is already out with two games to play, and new import Keala King is hugely disappointed he couldn’t help save the Elite’s season.

Brought in just a week ago, King had a mediocre debut with the Elite, who bowed to Phoenix and tumbled out of playoff contention in the PBA Governors’ Cup on Wednesday night.

King, tapped to replace Eric Dawson, contributed just 14 points, eight boards, two blocks, and two assists with four turnovers and five fouls in 27 minutes.

“I just struggled, though I tried to play how coaches want me to play,” King said after the game. “I’m just mad at myself right now because I let myself down, I didn’t like to lose.”

“I knew they were going to play physical, I just wished we won,” added the Long Beach State product, who stands a shade below 6 feet 5.

King looked tentative and sluggish in the early going as he wound up with just two points in the first quarter, before slowly picking up in the second quarter where he added five points. The American wingman scored just seven points the rest of the way.

“I just need to go home and get back to the drawing board, basically change some things that I didn’t do in this game and try to do it next game,” King said.

Good thing the pressure to deliver has dropped to a minimum as the Elite have nothing to play for in their last two games.
