JUSTIN Brownlee once again came to Ginebra's rescue after hitting the game winner in a 103-102 win over Alaska in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

But for the import who etched his name in Ginebra lore by hitting the game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer to give Ginebra the Governor's Cup title, it's all in a day's work.

"I guess that's what I'm here for as an import. I think those are the moments where the import, not have to save the day or be a hero, but in those types of moments you have to be aggressive," said Brownlee.

"I understand that playing in this league as an import, in those moments, I just want to try and be aggressive and give my team the best opportunity to make a shot to win the game or make a defensive play," he added.

Brownlee finished with a game-high 37 points alongside 14 boards and six assists as Ginebra won its fifth straight game after opening the conference with a loss.

His stellar play down the stretch once again earned raves from Ginebra coach Tim Cone, who compared Brownlee's work ethic and attitude to legendary Alaska import Sean Chambers.

"He gets along with everybody, Fil-Am, local, ball boy, it doesn't matter. He hangs out with everybody," said Cone.

"The two of them (Chambers) are very much alike in terms of that friendliness and chemistry, being able to get everybody together and then come out and play hard every night," he added.

The admiration is mutual, Brownlee said.

"It's great compliment from a great coach. I just try to do the things he says and try to listen and learn all of his philosophies, the fundamentals, the way to play the game," Brownlee said.

"It's just working out right now for us. I hope we continue our success. I give a lot of praise to coach Tim as well."
