JUSTIN Brownlee had a triple double in Game Six of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals but it wasn't enough to wrap up the championship for Barangay Ginebra .
Brownlee had 37 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists, a performance that most of the time would've closed out game. But Game Six became a Myles Powell show for Bay Area as he hit big shots to lead the Dragons to an 87-84 victory.
“Bay Area, they showed that they have a big heart,” said Brownlee, saluting his fellow import. “They have a great heart and they fought really hard.”
“Have to give a lot of credit to Myles,” Brownlee added. “He came out and played extremely well, and he hit big shots.”

Brownlee said Ginebra wasn’t really caught off guard by Powell’s presence in Game Six, as he felt their preparation was enough. But Brownlee noticed differences in the play of the Dragons with Powell around instead of Andrew Nicholson, who was ruled out for the rest of the finals due to a sprained ankle.
The Ginebra import also felt they played well enough to win the title on Wednesday.
“We hadn’t have too much time to prepare for him because he was out (Powell). But of course, we’ve been seeing what he’s been doing this conference. You just have to give a lot of credit to them.”
“Just the rhythm of their offense. Of course, with Nicholson, they play outside as well but he is an inside player too. Just the rhythm, we just have to focus on different areas,” said Brownlee.
“Overall for us, I thought we played well,” Brownlee said. “We have moments in the game. But they hit some big shots and we couldn’t match that.”
Game Seven has since been moved to Sunday from Friday, and Brownlee had mixed feelings about the rescheduling, which some rival fans said was meant to give him extra rest after he played almost without relief in Game 6.
“I wish we would have played Friday. I feel pretty well. I still feel good. I’m willing to play Friday. (But) I’m sure the extra day can help everybody,” said Brownlee.
