“I came down on my ankle. I think it was a play where I got a lay-up and came down to my foot. I’m okay though. It was just a little twist and turn. Got hurt for quite a few minutes but I got over it,” said Brownlee.
The resident Barangay Ginebra import reiterated that he is okay for Game Two.
“No injuries in the finals, hopefully. Pray to God,” said Brownlee.
Brownlee was glad that Barangay Ginebra was able to come out with a victory. But despite his scoring explosion, Brownlee said it was their defense that was able to allow the Gins to come away with the victory.
Ginebra was able to limit Bay Area import Andrew Nicholson to a conference low 27 points in Game One.
“We knew that this game is very important. We were a little shaky. Both teams have some runs here and there. But in that fourth quarter, we just got down on the defensive side and had some stops, really focused in and try to stop Nicholson.
"He is a beast. We just got down on the defensive end and we just tried to take advantage,” said Brownlee.
