ANTIPOLO – Justin Arana limping out of the court served as a huge dampener for Converge’s 127-109 win over Blackwater on Sunday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The FiberXers’ main big hurt his knee when he landied awkwardly after going for a basket with seconds remaining in the third period.

It took a while before Arana was able to get up and had to be carried to the team locker room at the Ynares Center by deputy coaches Willie Miller and Danny Ildefonso while favoring his left leg.
The 25-year-old Arana, a first-round pick by Converge in the 2022 draft, never returned. The initial diagnosis revealed a hyperextended left knee.

He finished with seven points and five rebounds in the team’s eighth win in 11 outings for solo second place.
Coach Franco Atienza said the team has yet to be updated on Arana’s medical status, but the FiberXers are all hoping for the best.
“Sana okay naman. Initially, medyo okay naman pero masakit daw sabi ni Justin,” said Franco during the post-game presser.
“Hopefully, nothing serious.”
Converge will have defending champion San Miguel Beer for its final opponent in the eliminations as it bids for a Top 2 finish and a twice-to-beat edge in the playoffs.
