JUNE Mar Fajardo is on pace for his sixth Best Player of the Conference award in the Philippine Cup, and a record eighth overall.
The San Miguel center tightened his grip of the top spot in the statistical points race in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup with his 41.4 average SPs from 20.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.7 rebounds.
Fajardo is the lone player in the top five who will see action in the Philippine Cup Finals as the Beermen shoot for an unprecedented fifth straight title in the conference.
Chasing Fajardo for the plum are NorthPort's trio of Sean Anthony, Stanley Pringle and Mo Tautuaa, as well as TNT gunner Roger Pogoy.
Anthony sits at second with his 37.1 SPs, followed by teammate Pringle at third with his 34.8 SPs. Pogoy is at fourth with 33.6 SPs, as Tautuaa round out the top five with 33.1 SPs.
Phoenix Pulse's energizer bunny Calvin Abueva slid down to sixth with 31.6 SPs, suffering deductions from his technical and flagrant infractions in the Fuel Masters' semifinals defeat to SMB as he now is on a tie with San Miguel playmaker Alex Cabagnot.
Ian Sangalang is the top player to come out of Magnolia with his 30.5 SPs, good for eighth, followed by Matthew Wright of Phoenix Pulse (30.4 SPs) and Japeth Aguilar of Ginebra (30.1 SPs).
In the Rookie of the Year race, CJ Perez of Columbian topped the neophytes with his 28.7 SPs, but he has his work cut out for him, with NorthPort's Robert Bolick (22.8 SPs) and Rain or Shine's Javee Mocon (22.2) in hot pursuit.
