ANTIPOLO – June Mar Fajardo was ruled out of Tuesday’s game for San Miguel but could be back as early as Saturday for its second game in the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup.
The nine-time MVP hyperextended his right elbow during the recent FIBA window when Gilas Pilipinas played against Australia two Mondays ago.
But Fajardo said he is confident that he will be back in time for their next game four days from now as the Beermen battle the Dyip as he will be practicing with the team.

“Maga lang ‘yung siko,” Fajardo said. “Pahinga lang.”
“Baka sasali na ako sa next practice. Baka maglaro na ako sa Sabado,” Fajardo added.
It was not just Fajardo who was out for San Miguel’s conference opener as Beermen coach Leo Austria was ill and didn’t make the trip to the Ynares Center against Macau.
But even with their absence, the Beermen were still too good for the Giant Pandas, pulling off a 123-109 win even after they trailed by as many as 11 points sometime in the second quarter.
Fajardo watched from the bench when a couple of San Miguel players stepped up in his absence led by Rodney Brondial, who hauled 25 rebounds in getting most of the minutes in the center spot with 32.
“Ganda ng nilaro ni Rodney ngayon. Lahat naman ng pinasok ni Coach Peter (Martin) gumawa. Maganda ang takbo ng opensa. Sana tuluy-tuloy,” Fajardo said.
