ANTIPOLO – Two prominent figures from San Miguel in June Mar Fajardo and head coach Leo Austria were out for Tuesday’s PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup debut game against Macau.
Fajardo was in street clothes for Tuesday’s game due to an hyperextended right elbow he sustained during Gilas Pilipinas’ game against Australia.
Austria, meanwhile, didn’t make it to the Ynares Center-Antipolo for the game against the Giant Pandas due to an illness.
Team manager Gee Abanilla said Austria still supervised Monday’s practice on the eve of their Governors’ Cup debut, and was planning to go to Tuesday’s game.
Lead assistant Peter Martin took the cudgels for San Miguel against Macau with Austria in sick bay.
