CALASIAO, Pangasinan - The Obstacle Race is one unfamiliar territory for June Mar Fajardo.
While he may have won multiple championships and owns the most number of MVPs in PBA history with five, Fajardo said he has yet to take up the challenge which serves as one of the skills events in the All-Star weekend at the Calasiao Sports Complex.
"Hindi ko nga alam ang gagawin e," said the San Miguel Beer franchise player on the eve of the contest.
"First time ko ito."
At 6-foot-10, Fajardo will also be the tallest player to join the event since the league tweaked its format by having big men participate in the contest beginning last year.
Rain or Shine's Beau Belga is the reigning, defending champion in the event, which requires players to go through a series of courses and the one with the fastest time winning the contest.
Others included in the field are Yousef Taha (TnT Katropa), Noy Baclao (Alaska), Justin Chua (Phoenix), Marrion Magat (NLE'X), Mo Tautuaa (NorthPort), Raymar Jose (Blackwater), Prince Caperal (Barangay Ginebra), Russel Escoto (Columbian Dyip), Brian Faundo (Meralco), and Kyle Pascual (Magnolia).
Magat replaced Poy Erram for NLEX, while Pascual took the place of Rafi Reavis at Magnolia.
