JUNE Mar Fajardo is on pace for an eighth Best Player of the Conference award as he leads the statistical race for the award in the Philippine Cup.
Fajardo, who already holds the record for most BPCs with seven, is running away in the race with 42.2 statistical points after the elimination round of the Philippine Cup. He averaged 22.1 points and 12.5 rebounds this conference.
For Fajardo, however, to stay as a candidate in the BPC, San Miguel must advance to the semifinals with the Beermen still playing TNT in Game Three on Wednesday in the Philippine Cup.
Sean Anthony is in second at 37.1 followed by NorthPort teammate Stanley Pringle at 36.0, Calvin Abueva of Phoenix Pulse at 34.9 SPs, RR Pogoy of TNT at 34.7 and Phoenix’s Matthew Wright at 34.3 SPs.
Mo Tautuaa of NorthPort (33.3), Ian Sangalang of Magnolia (33.0), Japeth Aguilar of Barangay Ginebra (31.9) and Jayson Castro of TNT (31.0) round out the top 10.
Meanwhile, CJ Perez of Columbian, Robert Bolick of NorthPort, and Javee Mocon of Rain or Shine are leading the way in the Rookie of the Year race.
Perez has 28.7 SPs, while Bolick and Mocon are close behind both with 23.6.
Abu Tratter of Blackwater is in fourth with 20.5, followed by JP Calvo at 16.6 and Jeepy Faundo at 14.2.
