ANTIPOLO – June Mar Fajardo achieved a new career milestone when he scored his 10,000th career point in the PBA.
The nine-time MVP reached the scoring plateau at the 1:22 mark of the first period between San Miguel and NLEX in the PBA Governors Cup on Wednesday, tying the contest at 24-all.
Fajardo, 36, came into the game needing just five points to become the latest member of the league’s 10,000-point club.

The basket gave him 10,001 for his career – and counting.
He is the 19th player to achieve the mark in the league’s 50-year history and the second to achieve the feat this season after TNT’s Jayson Castro in the Commissioner’s Cup last May.
Fajardo and Castro are the only two active players to have scored as many career points.
Four-time MVP Ramon Fernandez remains as the PBA’s all-time leading scorer with a total of 18,996 points.
