NLEX is looking to get back added firepower with the expected return of JR Quinahan in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup two weeks from now.
As per his estimate, the veteran forward said he could be available to play either by the first week or second week of June.
Quinahan is recovering from surgery to repair a meniscal tear that has kept him out in the Road Warriors first three outings in the league's midseason conference.
He went under the knife last May 6 and was projected to be out for at least three to four weeks.
“Siguro mga June 8 or June 14 ako makakalaro ulit,” said Quinahan following NLEX’s 100-87 loss to Alaska on Wednesday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.
“Malapit na akong makabalik. Sana makatulong rin ako (sa team).”
The Road Warriors need all the help they can get especially after stumbling to their third straight loss to join Columbian Dyip at the bottom of the standings.
Quinahan has already joined the Road Warriors in practice, but is limited to non-contact drills.
“Shooting lang at centering,” he said.
By next week, Quinahan hopefully could finally join the team in scrimmages as he looks forward to being reactivate either in the Road Warriors’ game against Blackwater or Magnolia.
