NLEX bigman JR Quinahan was left frustrated after he was sent to the showers for a disqualifying foul early in Game Six of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series against Magnolia on Tuesday night.

Quinahan caught a driving Jio Jalalon in the face with 7:27 left in the second quarter and the Road Warriors down 36-35, leaving the Magnolia guard with a bloodied mouth and a slightly swollen left eye.

Quinahan was quickly thrown out of the game and now faces an automatic fine and possible suspension, although he maintained that there was no intent to hurt Jalalon.

“Ejected yata pag may dugo e,” said Quinahan as he watched the game from the locker room. “Bola talaga ang habol ko, kitang kita naman e. Sumabit lang siya.”

The hulking big man out of Cebu said referees should be mindful before making crucial calls.

“Kung may intention yun sana closed fist 'yun. Di ko alam bakit ganun, dapat talaga tinitingnan nila kung may intention e.”

Quinahan's ejection came as another big blow to NLEX, which already lost starting guard Kevin Alas to an ACL injury in Game Five. The Road Warriors trailed the Hotshots, 49-46, at halftime.
