BLACKWATER big man JP Erram scored a career-high in points while going head-to-head with reigning league MVP June Mar Fajardo on Wednesday night, but that doesn't mean he will start looking for his shots from hereon.
He's happy to play his role for the Elite.
“Boost siya sa confidence ko kasi nag-career high ako,” said the former Ateneo center after scoring 23 points and grabbing eight rebounds in Blackwater's 83-93 loss to San Miguel and Fajardo,
Erram actually outscored Fajardo (20 points) in their head-to-head match-up, but admitted it wasn't easy going up against the hulking Cebuano center.
“Syempre mahirap, syempre babantayan mo June Mar ang bigat eh,” he said. “Pero syempre kailangan namin gawin ‘yung trabaho ko siya kasi yung No.1 offensive player ng San Miguel so for me sobrang laking task noon ginawa ko lang naman ‘yung trabaho ko.”
Despite the loss, the Blackwater big man said his performance will be a boost to his confidence.
“For me nagawa ko naman ng maayos, I think ah, for me masaya naman ako,” he said.
