GLOBALPORT is hoping to sign up NBA D-League veteran and former Georgetown University star Jabril Trawick in the season-ending PBA Governors’ Cup starting next month.
The 6-foot-5 Trawick suited up for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the NBA D-League that saw him average 13 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 37 games last season.
GlobalPort governor and AirAsia executive Erick Arejola is confident he can sign up Trawick, believing he’s got the talent they are longing for.
“We’re still finalizing the details, only the minor ones,” said Arejola.
In his senior stint with the Hoyas, Trawick averaged 9.1 points with 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists. He also emerged as the team’s top three-point shooter after making 40.7 percent of his shots.
One of his teammates during his senior year at Hoyas was current TNT reinforcement Joshua Smith.
Trawick will join GlobalPort’s talented backcourt of Terrence Romeo and Fil-Am Stanley Pringle under coach Franz Pumaren, whose team hopes to follow up their quarterfinal playoff stint in the Commissioner’s Cup.
