JOSH Urbiztondo's exploits in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) has earned him a PBA call-up as he is set to make a return via Globalport.
Batang Pier team manager Bonnie Tan confirmed the development on Thursday night, saying the team needs another point guard now that Terrence Romeo is on loan to Gilas Pilipinas.
Tan added the veteran playmaker, who led the Singapore Slingers to a finals appearance in the recently concluded ABL season, will suit up as early as the team's Commissioner’s Cup game on Friday against Phoenix.
"With Terrence (Romeo) in Gilas, we needed an additional point guard," Tan said with Mike Cortez the only other playmaker in the rotation.
GlobalPort is also the last team the 34-year-old Urbiztondo played for in the PBA, suiting up for the Batang Pier in the last Philippine Cup before going overseas.
