WILL we be seeing a future showdown of father and son in PBA soon?
Well, sources say this might happen in the very near future.
Insiders from the Manny V. Pangilinan group told SPIN.ph that Josh Reyes, son of multi-titled TNT coach Chot Reyes, is on his way to be elevated to the head coaching position of the NLEX Road Warriors, replacing veteran coach Jong Uichico.

Reyes, a former Gilas Pilipinas Youth coach who came a heartbeat away from becoming the UE Red Warriors coach last season, is primed to further share his modern coaching knowledge at NLEX.
Uichico, who has won nine championships as a PBA head coach, stepped in to replace Frankie Lim beginning in the 2024 season but failed to steer the Road Warriors past the quarterfinals in four conferences in charge.

Another source bared that a sign of Uichico’s impending departure is the exit of his longtime coaching partner Siot Tanquingcen.
Known to be Uichico’s defense coach and most trusted lieutenant, Tanquingcen has been taken out of the NLEX team’s group chat and will no longer be on the team’s bench when they return to action at the Commissioner’s Cup which is set to kick off on March 4.
Once Reyes is named to the NLEX head coaching job, he will also retain his role at the Gilas Pilipinas men’s basketball team as an assistant.
