BARANGAY Ginebra made another significant move under the leadership of new coach Frankie Lim by sending Joseph Yeo to Barako Bull for fellow guard Sol Mercado.
The trade, approved by the PBA on Monday, was just the latest trade pulled off by Lim who has vowed to put together a well-oiled, run-and-gun team in his first conference as Ginebra coach.
It was the third deal Ginebra has made with Barako Bull since Lim took over from Ato Agustin after the Gin Kings were bumped out of the first round of the PBA Commissioner's Cup playoffs.
Ginebra had earlier swapped back-up center Billy Mamaril for Dave Marcelo, Lim's former player at San Beda, and sent Dylan Ababou and James Forrester to the Energy for the team's first-round pick in the coming rookie draft.
However, team insiders swore then that Lim wasn't through shuffling his team and - true enough - Yeo became the latest to be traded by the league's most popular team.
Yeo joined Ginebra in a pre-agreed swap with Air21 before the team was bought by NLEX early last year and had a fairly good run with Ginebra.
On the other hand, Ginebra is just the latest swap in the journeyman career of Mercado who joined Barako just last December from San Miguel in a one-on-one deal for Alex Cabagnot.
Before San Miguel, Mercado also had stints with Rain or Shine, Meralco, and GlobalPort.
