JONG Uichico just shrugged off after seeing the record franchise winning streak of NLEX come to an end Sunday night at the expense of PBA Philippine Cup reigning champion Meralco.
Not all good things last and things like it happen, according to the Road Warriors coach.
“Mas mabuti na yung win streak kaysa losing streak, di ba. So OK na rin yan. It happens naman, e,” stressed Uichico following the Road Warriors downfall at the hands of the Bolts, 108-92.

The loss pulled down NLEX at 6-2 as it failed to keep in step with league leader Magnolia (7-1), while also deferring the Road Warriors’ march to the quarterfinals.
But Uichico is not freaking out following the loss.
“Mabuti kung 2-6 kami, yun medyo (alanganin). But we’re 6-2. And the important thing is maka-recover kami,” he added. “Siyempre something new sa amin ito. Winning streak and then natalo. Kailangan matuto kaming mag-recover. Ganun lang yun.”
At the same time, Uichico said the team has to go through experiences such as this one to become a better unit.
“We have to encounter a lot of scenarios to improve the team. Lahat ng scenarios kung anuman ang ibato. Ngayon nag-winning streak tapos natalo. So papaano ang gagawin natin,” he pointed out.
“Hindi naman tayo San Miguel na kayang mag-sampung panalo. Hindi naman tayo yun, e. But you want to get there eventually. So this is all a part of it.”
The Road Warriors have three games left and will be against Phoenix, league leader Magnolia, and Northport.
