JUNE Mar Fajardo is not buying the idea of his coming PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup face-off with celebrated TNT import Bol Bol.
The league’s only nine-time MVP said it will take a collective effort for San Miguel to stop the imposing presence of the former NBA player inside the paint come their highly-anticipated meeting this Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
But he stressed it won’t be easy holding their own against the towering 7-foot-3 import.
“For sure mahihirapan kami. Pero five-on-five naman ito, hindi naman ito one-on-one,” he said.
“Pero kung matapat sa akin si Bol, gagawin ko yung best ko na ma-stop siya. Hindi ko man siya ma-totally stop, at least ma-limit ko man lang siya.”

The reclusive South Sundan native averaged 39.0 points, 15.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in two games so far for the 1-1 Tropang Giga, the reigning Comm’s Cup champion.
Fajardo is likewise putting up big numbers early in the conference, averaging 21 points and 17,0 rebounds, as the Beermen also split their first two outings, including a 103-99 win over Converge Wednesday night in Antipolo.

The 6-foot-10 center from Cebu posted 27 points and 17 rebounds in the close win against the FiberXers where he held his own against the FiberXers' triple towers in import Kylor Kelley, Justin Arana, and Justine Baltazar.
The performance certainly hyped up Fajardo for his battle against Bol.
“May ilang days pa naman kami kaya paghahandaan namin yung game na yan,” said the 35-year-old center.
