JHONARD Clarito received a well-deserved contract renewal from Rain or Shine following his rise as one of the franchise’s most dependable players.
Clarito, 30, was given a three-year extension by the Elasto Painters, who gave the virtual unknown out of De Ocampo College the needed break when they selected him in the second round (No. 17) of the 2022 PBA draft.

He was accompanied by his agent, the venerable Danny Espiritu during the signing, while team governor Atty. Mert Mondragon represented the Rain or Shine management.
The 6-foot-2 two-way guard rose from the ranks, from being part of the Rain or Shine bench mob, to becoming one of coach Yeng Guiao’s reliable players.
In the just-concluded Commissioner’s Cup, Clarito turned in well-rounded numbers of 10.4 points, 7.05 rebounds, and 2.16 assists as the Elasto Painters made it back to the semifinals but lost to eventual champion Barangay Ginebra in a highly-emotional best-of-seven series.

He is the third Rain or Shine player to be given a contract extension coming to the season-ending Governors Cup after injured rookie Jun Roque and veteran Anton Asistio.
