JHAN Nermal, an unheralded player from Negros Occidental who made it all the way to the PBA by way of NLEX, is set to get a career reboot.
The plucky 6-foot-3 forward is set to be picked up by Converge in time for the PBA Philippine Cup after being relegated by the Road Warriors to its unrestricted agree agent list, Pampanga Gov. Delta Pineda said on Wednesday.
"Kinuha na namin from UFA [list]," Pineda said.

Nermal was picked by NLEX in the second round of the Season 48 draft at 21st overall and subsequently signed to a two-year contract - the culmination of his journey from Kabankalan to the MPBL to the PBA.
The 29-year old had a couple of big games with the Road Warriors early in his stay with NLEX but has since faded out of the main rotation after a coaching change.

At Converge, he can expect more confidence from the coaching staff considering Pineda, whose official capacity for now is assistant team manager, is more familiar with his game from Nermal's time with the Bacoor Strikers in the MPBL.
