JERVY Cruz has not played a single game for his third team in a two-month span, yet he may find himself on the move again to what has long been believed to be his final destination.

Sources told on Thursday that Cruz is well on his way to Barangay Ginebra, where he has long been awaited by fans who feel the undersized forward's perimeter game is perfect for the triangle offense of famed coach Tim Cone.

"Yes, Jervy is on his way there. Medyo na-delay lang. Nagpalamig, but he is on his way there," said one source.

The former University of Santo Tomas star was traded by Rain or Shine to GlobalPort for Jewel Ponferrada last August 18 before he was shipped to Barako Bull in another straight swap for Rico Maierhofer last October 12.

All the while, it was believed his ultimate destination was Ginebra, and sources said there are indications the final move may happen over the next few days.

There are more signs that a move is imminent. Another source revealed that Cruz's request for an advance pay was put on hold since the team may be forced to play him if the request was granted.

"Naghihingi ng advance pay si Jervy kaso hindi na binigay. Kasi kung bibigyan siya, maoobliga pa ang Barako na ipalaro sa kanya ang advance niya," said the source.

As for what Barako would get in return, sources are pointing to either big man Dave Marcelo - who was brought in by former Ginebra coach Frankie Lim - or rookie Aljon Mariano, or both.

However, the PBA's one-season rule may impede Marcelo's return to Barako while another source said team therapists are monitoring an injury to Mariano who only joined Ginebra in practice a week ago.

But one thing sure, the 6-3 Cruz should come in handy for Cone who has seen big men with good shooting range - primarily former Alaska star Bong Hawkins - thrive in his triangle.
