A RECENT injury denied Jerramy King from realizing one item on his PBA bucket list.
King won’t be in Calasiao, Pangasinan this week for the annual All-Star weekend after being failing to make the Rookie/Sophomore vs Juniors side event set on March 29.
The Columbian guard was enjoying a breakout season until he suffered a partial tear/ strain in his PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament).
The 28-year-old Fil-Am guard of Columbian Dyip said given the chance to play in his first All-Star game, he’ll gladly do so if healthy.
“That would be a dream of mine,” he related after a heart-breaking 101-98 Columbian loss to the TnT Katropa last week.
“If I could play, it would really be amazing,” added the native of California. “I pray that one day I can play.”
King envies Columbian Dyip teammates Rashawn McCarthy, Russel Escoto, and last year’s top pick CJ Perez who will be joining the rest of the All-Star delegation for the entire March 28-31 meet.
But he’s not about to fret.
“I’m not complaining about the All-Star though. I’m happy with all the opportunities I get in the PBA,” said King, who expects to be back in action in one or two weeks if and when Columbian Dyip makes it to the playoffs of the All-Filipino Cup.
“I’m very blessed and lucky to play in this great league,” he added.
As they say, there’s always a next time.
