TIMING is a little off and the rhythm isn’t there yet.

In time, Jerramy King will get back his old playing form, but for now he’s just happy to be back playing on the court again for Columbian Dyip.

Five months since suffering a partial tear/strain on his Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL), the 28-year-old guard was finally back in active duty after suiting up in the team’s 110-103 loss to Magnolia in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

King was limited to just seven minutes of play and scored just two points in only his second game for this season.

But he doesn’t mind the restricted minutes. Just being back and running on the floor again was more than a blessing for him.

“I’m just really happy that I can run and play basketball again, to be honest,” he said. “I love basketball and I’m just thankful for coach and all my teammates, and also to the whole PBA.”

The 28-year-old King went down with the injury right in Columbian Dyip’s first game of the season last January during the Philippine Cup against San Miguel.

The knee strain didn’t require surgery but had King doing therapy and rehab for the next five months.

“It was a long five months, but I’m just happy coach has given me the opportunity to help the team and I’m more so happy just being back on the floor,” said King.

King said the knee felt fine after the game, although he adds it still needs to be strengthened more to help him move better on the court.

“We need more fine-tuning and myself I need to do my best to gel with the team. I’m getting there but I think it’s a little bit slowly, and coach is doing a good job of managing my minutes. Hopefully and slowly I can help the team more,” said King.

Too bad, King would have loved a Columbian Dyip victory on his comeback game.

But at 1-4, he still had six more games left to help the Dyip’s cause of clinching a playoffs berth.
