JERICHO Cruz refused to go into detail on his desire to be traded by Rain or Shine to other teams, politely declining to be interviewed saying his agent Danny Espiritu is the right man to ask about it.
“Pasensiya na. Si Boss Danny na lang,” the three-year guard said as he left the Elasto Painters’ dugout at the Mall of Asia Arena Friday night following the team’s 90-84 win over Meralco in the PBA Philippine Cup.
Coach Caloy Garcia, however, said Cruz's wish to be traded is actually nothing new, although he already talked to the former Adamson wingman about being professional about it.
Cruz, he added, has long aired his desire to be reunited with former coach Yeng Guiao, who is now at NLEX.
“We all know naman from the beginning si Jericho, he really wants to go back to coach Yeng, which sabi ko, this is a job, we have to love our job and we have to play hard,” he stressed.
“Mahirap naman i-trade yung player na hindi mo naman makukuha yung gusto mo. So I just told them the only way you can be traded is if you play good, because if you play good, you can get something na magandang kapalit.”
Cruz played for 17 minutes and finished with two points, two rebounds, and two assists. He shot 0-for-5 from the field, however.
