RAIN or Shine found a glimmer of hope as Jericho Cruz joined the shootaround ahead of Game Four of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series against San Miguel Beer on Monday night.

The Elasto Painters had feared the spitfire guard would be out for a longer period after hurting his left knee following a collision with Marcio Lassiter late in Game Three on Saturday.

But Cruz, who didn’t practice on Sunday, was healthy enough to warm up before Game Four when the E-Painters gun for a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Painters, however, are still waiting for MRI results and clearance from the doctor, according to assistant coach Mike Buendia.

Asked if the result can come before tipoff, Buendia replied, “Sana.”

Cruz is one of two Painters nursing injuries, with Raymond Almazan out for the series with a sprained right ankle.
