JERIC Teng has signed with the Pasig Sta. Lucia Realtors in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), his mother Susan confirmed on Saturday.
Teng hasn’t played since last year when he was part of NorthPort in the PBA Governors’ Cup. Last season, he played for 19 games and averaged 2.7 points and 3.2 rebounds with the Batang Pier.
Drafted in the second round by Rain or Shine in 2013, the former UAAP Rookie of the Year for University of Santo Tomas suited up for the Elastopainters for three years. He moved to the Columbian franchise in 2016 before going to NorthPort in 2018.
The Pasig squad will now be supported by Sta. Lucia Realty. The team will be managed by former PBA executive Buddy Encarnado.
Incidentally, the Realtors will reportedly be coached by Bong Dela Cruz, who incidentally coached UST a few years after Teng graduated with the Growling Tigers. former head coach of University of Santo Tomas in the UAAP.
