JEFF Chan has a handful of emotions, but a singular goal as he tries to lead Phoenix in putting an end to its losing streak, taking on former team Rain or Shine on Wednesday when the PBA Governors’ Cup goes on the road at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The veteran gunner is facing for the first time an Elasto Painters team that surprisingly traded him last month after playing for them for almost nine seasons.

“Nothing to prove, but it’s going to be a weird feeling facing them,” Chan said in a text message on the eve of matchup that tips off at 4:15 p.m. “Excited to play them also.”

But former Gilas Pilipinas marksman is more concerned of helping the Fuel Masters, who have lost their last seven games, get back on track and revive their postseason aspirations.

After averaging 20.5 points in his first two games for the Fuel Maters, Chan has cooled down a bit, contributing just 12 points combined in his next two games, the last just seven points in the Fuel Masters’ 105-92 loss to Ginebra.

Mark Borboran, who the E-Painters got from Phoenix in the Chan deal, is starting to prove his worth as the wiry combo forward is coming off his best game in an ROS uniform last Wednesday. He registered 10 points, spike by two triples, and missed a double-double by just one rebound, and dished out two assists in less than 18 minutes off the bench in the 103-96 loss to San Miguel Beer.

“May Jeff Chan sila, may Borboran naman kami,” ROS coach Caloy Garcia said after their loss to SMB, a decision they looking to bounce back from and will improve their 4-3 win-loss record.

NLEX, tied with Ginebra atop the standings at 7-2, seeks to sustain its rise as it faces TNT Katropa (5-3) in the main game at 7 o’clock.
