RAIN or Shine gunner Jeff Chan vowed to shoot better while playing through the pain against Alaska in the deciding game of their PBA Governors’ Cup semifinal series on Saturday.
The Elasto Painters lived to fight for another day as it escaped with a 123-121 victory on Thursday night that knotted the best-of-five series at two games apiece, but Chan struggled with just 11 points on a woeful 3-of-10 shooting from the field in 34 minutes due to a hyperextended elbow.
The sweet shooter from Bacolod, however, promised to shrug off the pain in exchange for a Finals ticket.
"Isa na lang 'di ba, konting tiis na lang," said Chan, who sustained his injury in Game Three. "Umabot lang ng Finals makakalimutan ko 'yung sakit."
"Two days lang Game Five na, we'll see pero syempre pipilitin ko," the Gilas Pilipinas mainstay added. "Ang hirap mag-ingat. Alam mo naman basketball, hilaan, tulakan, bugbugan, pero kailangan manalo eh, so pipilitin (ko) pa rin."
The Alaska-Rain or Shine sudden death will be held at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum at 8 p.m.
