ANOTHER Faundo in a Ginebra jersey?
That possibility may soon be a reality as Jeepy Faundo tests his luck in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft.
The 6-foot-4 slotman out of University of Santo Tomas is salivating over the idea of donning the famed Ginebra red-and-whites, the same jersey his older brother Bryan wore back in 2013.
"Syempre talagang kapag fan ka ng PBA, parang Ginebra talaga ang gusto mong mapuntahan eh," he remarked.
Faundo, 23, is coming in as one of only a handful centers in this year's draft class. He boosted his stock with stints with the Bataan Risers in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as well as with Team Philippines in the 2018 Fiba 3x3 Under-23 World Cup in Xi'An, China.
But he's not discounting the idea of playing for other teams, noting that making it to the PBA is already a success in itself.
"Kahit saan naman ako mapunta, basta mabigyan ako ng opportunity at chance na maglaro sa PBA, iga-grab ko yun," he said.
Lucky for Jeepy, he got himself some sage advice from Bryan, the Letran product who's been in the league for the better part of the last nine years, the last three of which he spent at Meralco.
"Si kuya, sinasabi niya lang na wag ko lang i-pressure ang sarili ko at ibigay ko lang yung best ko every time nasa court ako," he said.
