IT was only fitting that a proposal that JC Intal had aborted twice before finally took off at the airport.
“Dapat Christmas and New Year (time) 'yun, but she left for San Francisco,” said the PBA star of his first attempt to propose to her girlfriend of three years, TV host and actress Bianca Gonzales. “Nung birthday niya (last March) inisip ko ulit, kaso andami niyang plans noon, kaya pinalipas ko na lang.”
“So naghintay ako ng time na hindi niya ini-expect,” added the former Ateneo Blue Eagle.

“Kasi 'pag nasa airport kami, lagi naming maalala 'yun. Perfect spot para sa amin." Barako Bull guard-forward JC Intal
But why at the airport and not some place associated with the celebrity couple, like in the PBA games perhaps (where Intal plays for Barako Bull and Bianca is a fixture at ringside during the Energy's games) or maybe in some showbiz function?
“Si Bianca kasi, she loves to travel. 'Yun ang pinaka gusto niya sa buhay. Sakto naman timing na aalis siya,”’ Intal told Spin.ph. “Ako din mahilig mag travel, so I thought, magiging unforgettable experience sa amin (if I proposed at the airport.

Finally able to get the timing right as Bianca was set to fly to London on Thursday morning, Intal bared that it still took him and some friends one week to map out the plan for the romantic proposal that involved the participation of some airport and immigration officials.
Aside from that, Intal said he was 100 percent sure the ABS-CBN talent was 'the one' when he proposed.
“Na-feel ko na I want to marry Bianca. Gusto ko nang mag-start na rin ng future ko with her,” Intal declared. “Nakita ko naman actually with her sa kanya talaga. Gusto ko sure na talaga bago ako mag-propose. Pero nung nag-propose ako, alam ko sure na sure na ko.”

Intal also bared that Gonzalez’s 17-day trip to London for a school grant will be the longest time they will be away from each other since they became a couple.
“I just wanted to make her happy. At least bago siya umalis gusto ko na mapasaya s'ya. Ito kasi ang pinakamatagal naming maghihiwalay since nung naging kami,” said the 30-year old Quezon City native.
“I am very happy, hindi ako makapaniwala. Ang bilis talaga ng pangyayari kanina. Sobrang surreal ng morning namin,” he added with a smile.
Intal likewise bared the wedding may come at the latter part of the year, with the details to be discussed as soon as Gonzalez returns from England.
“We will plan on that, pagbalik niya. Sana may time pa kami to prepare,” said Intal of the wedding which the couple has tentatively set in Manila.
Will it be an extravagant event?
“Very, very small wedding lang. 'Yun kasi ang request niya sa akin," Intal said. "Ako din gusto ko ganun. Gusto ko intimate. Gusto namin 'yun lang mga taong kilala lang during the relationship (ang present).”
