BARANGAY Ginebra’s worst fear did come true.

Jayson David has just been diagnosed with an ACL injury that would keep him out for the rest of the PBA Season 50.

The 29-year-old guard's MRI test came out on Thursday and it was confirmed he suffered a tear on his knee joint following a non-contact incident in the Kings’ 110-93 win over guest team Macau Black Knights last week.

Coach Tim Cone confirmed the bad news shortly after Ginebra lost to NLEX, 118-113, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Friday night.

The native of Mabalacat, Pampanga is scheduled to undergo surgery and will likely be out for about a year.

The misfortune couldn’t have come at a worst time for David, who has since become a major core of Cone’s bench mob since last season.

David's injury also came at a time when big man Isaac Go just returned to active duty after recovering from a similar ACL injury.
