ANTIPOLO CITY - Jayson Castro rued how TnT Katropa failed to pounce on the opportunity of beating an NLEX side that doesn't have its coach and three key players around during their PBA Governors Cup game Friday night.
The Road Warriors were without coach Yeng Guiao and veteran Asi Taulava as well as backcourt guards Kiefer Ravena and Kevin Alas and yet managed to get away with a 103-90 win over a complete TnT side at the Ynares Center here.?
"Ito yung opportunity namin na para sana makauna," said Castro after the game. "Yung mga ganung senaryo dapat makontrol namin."
Instead, it was the Road Warriors who completely controlled the Katropa as they held Castro and co. to just 34-percent shooting from the field (29-of-84).
Castro also pointed out how TnT import Mike Glover was outplayed by Olu Ashaolu, who actually played with just one healthy leg.
Glover only had 11 points and 15 rebounds in 30 minutes of play.
But Castro said the fault doesn't lie on the import alone.
"Siguro hindi lang yung import, pati kami may mga mali," said the veteran guard, admitting how he struggled too, with his game after committing five turnovers and shooting 2-of-11 for 15 points.
Definitely, the Katropa can't afford to play like this in their next game if they intend to get past Allen Durham and the Meralco Bolts.
"Challenge sa amin yun na mga locals, and siyempre sa import din namin," he said.
