TNT is hoping for the best as Jayson Castro was stretchered off the venue straight to a hospital after twisting his right knee in the final minutes of Game Two of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals against Rain or Shine.
Castro landed awkwardly after taking an off-balanced lay-up with 3:07 left in Game Two of the best-of-seven semifinal series which TNT eventually won, 93-91.
After hobbling back to the dugout area, Castro was brought straight to the hospital through a stretcher.

“Doesn’t look good,” said TNT coach Chot Reyes during the postgame press conference.
Castro has been on a roll in this semifinal series, scoring 24 points in Game 1 last Wednesday. On Friday, the 38-year-old Castro had 13 points and five assists, and hit a three to start the fourth to bring TNT’s lead to 84-75.
“We will find out more now,” Reyes said. “I’m sure our medical staff is going to be hard at work tonight to give us a prognosis. But Jayson knows he is not going to take himself out of the game. It appeared to me that it wasn’t a good landing. Hopefully, it’s not bad enough to keep him out of the next game.”
Reyes said the priority is to get Castro healthy, even if it means missing games for TNT in this current playoff run.

“Very concerning from standpoint nung tinignan ko ‘yung replay. Very concerning not only for this series but for Jayson’s well-being long term, his physical fitness, his health,” said Reyes.
“The only thing we can do now is hope and pray,” said Reyes.
