WHILE it already has an import, TNT Katropa will still be without its top local when it makes its PBA Commissioner’s Cup debut on Friday night against Meralco at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Jayson Castro has yet to be passed fit since suffering a hamstring injury that sidelined him since Game Seven of the Philippine Cup semifinals against San Miguel Beer.
Asked if his star guard will play in the Texters’ game at 7 p.m., TNT coach Nash Racela shook his head.
“Baka sa Sunday pa,” Racela bared after practice as he turns to the rest of the local crew that’s expected to provide support to new import Lou Amundson, who replaced Denzel Bowles.
If so, then Castro, who did take part in training on Thursday, could make his return this weekend when the Texters take the court again two days later against Phoenix at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
"He had a full practice earlier," Racela said. "He's still working on his timing. Depends on how he feels."
