TNT coach Chot Reyes has ruled out Jayson Castro for the rest of the conference due to a severe sprain in his right foot suffered in their game against Barangay Ginebra on Sunday.

Reyes said he doesn’t see Castro returning this conference after rolling the same right ankle that he hurt during the PBA Philippine Cup finals.

“Wala na ‘yun for the conference. That guy is out. I don’t think he can be back for the conference,” said Reyes.

Reyes said he has no plan of playing Castro this conference anymore since he already had a bad case of a sprained ankle just a few months ago.

“Severe sprain eh. Mahirap pilitin. Remember, galing na siya sa sprain sa finals,” said Reyes.

Castro’s absence adds to the woes of TNT, which suffered a 140-108 beating against Bay Area to go down to 10th place with a 4-7 win-loss record.

Reyes said Castro’s injury is a reflection of the conference for the Tropang GIGA where other players also got hurt including Cam Oliver, who was replaced as the team’s import after a hyperextended knee.

TNT will be looking to beat San Miguel in its final match of the eliminations, but not even a victory can assure team of a shot at a quarterfinal spot.
