JAYSON Castro said he will try his best to be as healthy as possible for Game Seven after TNT missed out on the opportunity to wrap up the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup championship against San Miguel on Friday night.
Castro dressed for Game Six but didn’t play as he rested an ankle that he sprained on Wednesday. He however hinted his desire to play in the deciding game of the best-of-seven series at the end of TNT's 114-96 loss to the Beermen.
“Hindi pa 100 percent. Siyempre, hindi naman magiging 100 percent. Pero Game Seven is Game Seven. Lahat ng players gusto laruan ['yan], di ba? Ita-try ko talaga best ko para makatulong sa team,” said Castro.

Castro admitted that even though he was in uniform, the chance of him being fielded in Game Six was improbable to none.
“Coaches' decision, and at the same time (decision) ‘yun ng PT at doctor namin. Kasi ilang days pa lang naman ‘yun. 48 hours pa lang,” said Castro.
“Nandoon ako para suportahan ‘yung teammates ko. Gusto ko nag-uuniform ako para at least, involved ako sa game,” he added.
Castro said the Beermen played well enough to extend the series.
“Sobrang ganda ng game ng San Miguel at ‘yung outside shots nila, sobrang ganda ng percentage. Talaga gusto nilang manalo,” said Castro.
The TNT veteran is hopeful the extra days of recovery will be enough to make him fit for sudden-death Sunday.
“Malaking bagay (‘yung pahinga) tsaka ‘yung mga teammate namin, fourth quarter na, nakapag-rest na sila. ‘Yung rest naman, hindi na pinaguusapan ‘yun kasi Game Seven na. Talagang all-out na kung sino gustong manalo talaga,” said Castro.
“Hopefully bukas, maging okay na. Nakapag-practice na ako. At the same time, makatulong sa team sa Game Seven,” he added.
