JAYSON Castro was on hand to witness TNT capture the PBA 49th Season Commissioner’s Cup crown last Friday.

'The Blur' had one of the best seats inside jam-packed Araneta Coliseum and not on the floor itself, however, as he had just undergone surgery to repair the ruptured patellar tendon in his right knee he sustained during the semifinals against Rain or Shine.
The good news is that he is now able to walk on his own.
“Kanina, binigyan na ng clearance na pwede na maglakad,” said the 38-year-old Castro after Game 7. “So mag-start na ‘yung rehab ko by next week.”
Though just recently greenlit to walk without help, Castro already visited Tropang Giga practice last Tuesday, a day before Game 6 of the finals.
Prior to the clearance, Castro was using crutches to walk.
Castro comeback
Alongside TNT winning the championship and being able to walk on his own, another piece of good news for Castro is that his injury is not too severe - and he's looking forward to playing again.
“The good thing lang is lahat ng bone structure ko, intact, and may konti lang na nangyari. Pero makakabalik pa naman,” said Castro.
The initial timeline for Castro’s injury is that he needs to recover for a year. And although he is positive about an early comeback, Castro said it remains up to management on when he is going to play again.
“Depende sa mga boss at kay coach [Chot Reyes]. Ako mas gusto kong mapaaga, pero depende pa,” said Castro, the Finals MVP of TNT during their Governors’ Cup title run against the Gin Kings as well..
