JAYLEN Johnson praised the composure shown by Rain or Shine in the face of a fiery comeback by San Miguel in their PBA Commissioner's Cup game on Wednesday.
Johnson had 24 points, five rebounds, and three assists in the Elasto Painters' 116-112 win over the Beermen and got help from Adrian Nocum (21 points, five rebounds, 2-of-7 from threes), Jhonard Clarito (16 points, eight rebounds, and five assists), and Felix Lemetti (14 points, six rebounds, four assists).

Johnson was glad that the team survived the hot-shooting of Marcio Lassiter whose performance he described as Steph Curry-like. Lassiter had 27 points after shooting 7-of-13 from threes, a couple he hit during a fourth-quarter comeback bid.
“It's definitely a testament to our work ethic,” said Johnson. “The guys we got over here, they're willing to fight every day. We are happy that our work is showing. We know we haven't done enough yet until the last game. I'm just proud that we have this intensity and we're still going.”
“It was a great team over there,” said Johnson of San Miguel. “Like I said, bro right there, Marcio, he did his thing. He tapped into Steph Curry mode in the end. But like I said, I commend each and every one of us over there. We handled it virtually good and we were able to pull out the win.”

Johnson will now look to do the same thing when Rain or Shine [5-0] plays 1-4 Converge on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
“Every night is a tough game,” said Johnson. “We had a great win but it's time to put that behind us and go back to the drawing board. We were happy that we won but job isn't finished. We still have a game on Friday.
