JAYJAY Alejandro seemed to have found his comfort zone at Phoenix.
Playing perhaps his best season so far in the PBA, Alejandro was signed to a two-year contract extension by the Fuel Masters on Saturday.
Team governor and PBA board treasurer Atty. Raymond Zorilla was on hand to witness the signing along with team manager Paolo Bugia.
Alejandro came with his representative Edgar Mangahas.
The product of National University came on board Phoenix early this year in a complex three-team trade among TNT, NLEX, and Phoenix that centered on big man Justin Chua.
He was acquired by the Fuel Masters from the Tropang Giga along with Raoul Soyud, and a second round pick in the 52nd season draft for Chua and Paul Varilla.
Chua and Varilla together with a second round pick in the last draft, were sent by NLEX to Phoenix for the pair of Jake Pascual and Sean Anthony.
At Phoenix, Alejandro was reunited with college coach Jamike Jarin, who gave him back the playing confidence that was lacking with the Phoenix guard during his stay with TNT.

“With Jayjay, I think everybody forgets he was a Mythical Five in the UAAP in his final year, so he’s capable of really producing,” said the Phoenix coach. “I’m fortunate enough to be with him because I coached him in his final year in NU, so meron na rin talaga kaming relationship in how we handle things and how we do things.”
Alejandro has so far been part of the Fuel Masters’ youth brigade that is making a difference in the team’s campaign this conference, where the team is already assured of a quarterfinals berth with their second-running 6-1 record.
